Which one do I need?
NXP or NXS?
NXS is the standard version of the VACON NX air-cooled drives for general industrial use. NXP has the high-performance control board for closed-loop control, drive systems and demanding applications such as cranes, paper machines, winders and test benches.
Air-cooled or liquid-cooled?
Liquid-cooled NXP drives move the heat into a water circuit, so they are much smaller than air-cooled drives of the same power and need little cabinet ventilation. They are common on ships, offshore and in mines, or wherever space or air quality is a problem.
What are common DC bus modules?
Front-end units feed one DC bus, and inverters on that bus drive the motors. Energy from a braking motor is used by the others instead of being lost in a brake resistor.
What are grid and DC/DC converters for?
Grid converters connect a DC bus to the grid – for shaft generators, energy storage or shore power. DC/DC converters connect batteries, supercapacitors or fuel cells to a DC bus.
How do I find the right part?
Send us the type code from the nameplate, for example NXP05905-G2L1SSB-A1A2D7B500. It starts with the product (NXP, NXS, NXA, NXI), then the rated current (0590 = 590 A) and the voltage code (5 = 380–500 V, 6 = 525–690 V). The letters after "+" are the options.
